TOWN OF WESTON BOARD MINUTES
March 16, 2010
1. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE/CALL TO ORDER:
Supervisor Walter John Chilsen called the March 16, 2010 Town of Weston Board meeting to order at 6:31 pm. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Supervisors present: Arnie Baumann, Robert Wesenick, Tom Salzman, Walter John Chilsen. Also present were Clerk/Treasurer Joan Erdman, EMPD Police Chief Wally Sparks and Deputy Chief Kris Grod of the Weston Fire Dept. Chairman Milt Olson was absent (excused).
2. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS TOWN MEETINGS
Town Board Meeting – February 16, 2010: Baumann/Wesenick M/S to approve the minutes of the February 16, 2010 Town of Weston Board meeting. Q/C.
3. UNFINISHED BUSINESS: None
4. VISITORS: None
5. POLICE REPORT (Chief Sparks): Chief Sparks distributed the EMPD report for February to the Board members. A copy of the report will be included with the official minutes. Christopher Buenning of Mosinee has been hired as a new patrol officer. He was sworn in on March 11. Captain Vercimak has updated the EMPD website and a number of new links have been added.
6. FIRE REPORT (Kris Grod, Deputy Chief): The statistical report for February was distributed and will be included with the official minutes. Calls for February were above normal. There was one fire call to the Town in February.
7. NEW BUSINESS
a. Vouchers 3621-3644: Salzman/Wesenick M/S to approve vouchers 3621-3644. Q/C.
8. COMMITTEE REPORTS
a. Public Works (Arnie Baumann): Supervisor Baumann has spoken with Wisconsin Public Service regarding moving the power pole on Skrzypchak Lane. WPS feels that there is no need to move the pole. If we would like to have the pole moved, there would be a charge. Supervisor Baumann will talk with Mark Thompson about the blacktop bidding for our TRIP project. He will also contact the Village regarding the brush cutting that has been taking place.
b. Public Safety (Robert Wesenick): Supervisor Wesenick reported that the weather siren has been put up.
c. Parks Committee: Supervisor Chilsen reported that a born trail is being constructed at no cost to the Village or the Town.
9. CLERK’S REPORT:
Clerk Erdman reported on the Wisconsin Towns’ Association meeting she attended on February 27th in Stevens Point. The meeting covered Board of Review training in the morning and prevailing wage information in the afternoon.
10. SUPERVISOR REPORTS
a. Baumann: No report.
b. Wesenick: Supervisor Wesenick reported that one lot has been sold in the WoodHaven subivision.
c. Chilsen: No report
d. Salzman: No report:
11. CHAIRMAN’S REPORT: No report
12. ADJOURN: Wesenick/Salzman M/S to adjourn the March 16, 2010 Town of Weston Board meeting at 7:03 pm. Q/C
